Master Class Series of Spring 2012.
Recognized as one of the leading programs for emerging pianists, piano masterclasses continue to attract the highest calibre of young performing artists. We cordially invite you to attend or enrol in our own Master Class Series of Spring 2012, where we are honoured to feature world-famous artists like Robert Silverman, Eugene Skovorodnikov and Linda Lee Thomas. Participants will focus on their artistic development through interaction with peers and our world famous guests in a workshop environment.

Dr. Pavel Egorov
Pavel Egorov graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory in 1975 where he studied under Prof. Tatjana Nikolaeva and Vera Gornostaeva. In 1974 he won the Grand Prize and Gold Medal at the International Schumann Competition in Zwickau, Germany. Since then, the pianist carries on an intense concert activity, both in his own country and abroad. In 1980, after finishing his post-graduate studies, he was invited to teach at the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where he is currently working as a Professor of the Department of Special Piano. Mr. Egorov is a National Artist of the Russian Federation (the highest honorary title of Russia), an Honorary Member of the International Schumann Society, Dusseldorf, Germany and an Honorary Member of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society. In 1989, Mr. Egorov was awarded the International Schumann Prize. Pavel Egorov is also a Co-chair of St. Petersburg Frederic Chopin Society.
Pavel Egorov continues to be in demand in Russia and abroad. He has toured in the United States, Canada, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, China, Taiwan, Japan and Republic of Korea. During his career he has performed in more than 3,000 solo, symphonic and chamber concerts. He appears regularly in the Greand Hall of St. Petersburg’s Philharmony and in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
Besides his busy performing schedule, Professor Egorov is conducting annual masterclasses at “La Scuola Russia” in Rome, Italy since 1993. He was a visiting professor of the Keimyung University of Taegu, South Korea in 1996-1998. He is also an active music reseaercher. Pavel Egorov is a scientific editor of the 7-volume first Russian Edition of the Well Tempered Clavier by J.S. Back, “Lan” Publishing, St. Petersburg, 2001, and a scientific editor of the complete set of Beethoven’s piano sonatas, Lan, St. Petersburg, 2002.
